My Favorite Word Is…

My favorite word is “Done”. Who wouldn’t like such an simple, short and understandable word? Such a simple word like Done can bring great impact, relieve someone, satisfy someone or maybe even end a relationship. Done is a dramatic word and lines from movies such as “GET IT DONE!” “I’m done with you!” show that, or maybe it’s just  because it sounds dramtatic, “DONE DONE DONE DONE!”. Done can also be a really pleasuring, relieving and satisfying word to say. Done gives a sense of closure, ending or the sense of “getting rid of something”. How is this pleasuring? Most of you must have times when you had so many homework and the moment you say “YES! I’M DONE!” , all the weight and stress on your back vanishes. Well, this might be the main reason why I like the word Done. I enjoy being able to tell myself that I finally got rid of my homework! Being able to say DONE gives me the feeling of satisfaction, it is like a reward and as other people say it “after bitter comes sweet.”

I agree. There is an air of triumph in the word “done”. Is there also a finality to the word? Are there instances when “done” is too soon?
