Our first unit is about writing short stories. The AOI is human ingenuity and our unit question was “How can we write short stories that our friends will love?” I think we can make short stories that our friends will love by putting the reader into the situation, using descriptive words. Human Ingenuity is the best match for our unit because in this unit, we make short stories by using our creativity. and this is our unit overview.

In this unit, I learnt a lot of skills in blogging also in writing a short story that focuses on setting. For me, it’s a really fun and enjoyable unit. I like using blog as a learning portal and doing activities in groups are fun too. We also make a video using a green screen and we described our scene. Mr. Jabiz also told us to not make it scripted. It was difficult for me to making the video without it being scripted and that is one of the challenges I have during the lesson. In english class, everyday we have a class reporter that has to write everything about the class on that day and this is a link to my report.

There were so many skills I learnt in this unit. I learn how to make a video using a green screen, I learn how to clear formatting when copy pasting from a word document, and I also learn various different things in google docs. This is also my first time writing a real short story that focuses on settings and I learn making extended metaphors. In my opinion, this unit is fun and very enjoyable but maybe we should have more guidance because sometimes I have some problems starting a story or an activity. It’s a really fun unit.
