We have already fully booked the first of these sessions, as a result we are tentatively opening up a second session so please go to the schedule to sign up. If we have enough people sign up we will run a second cohort for this workshop.

How to integrate technology into the writer’s classroom.
A workshop for upper primary through to grade 12 teachers.

We will spend the workshop producing materials that will be ready to go home with you at the end of the session. Come ready to collaborate and integrate technology in a meaningful way.  Our workshop will touch on various aspects of writing, both academic and creative. Looking for ways to use social media to structure a thesis?  How can Youtube inspire poetic thinking?  Want to set up a quadblog for your students?

Come learn how to use several free tools to help bring your students ideas, stories and imagination alive through interactive and engaging animation projects. The tools are free, simple to use and can help bring a new dimension to the curriculum. In this workshop, you will learn the benefits of digital storytelling, how to use several tools that integrate into all subjects and disciplines, and practical ideas to use with your students. No prior technology experience is needed and this is recommended for all teachers (Grades 2-12).

“Spielberg Camp – Film Making with iMovie”

We’ll explore the ins and outs of educational film making, starting from the basics right up to advanced editing techniques. Starting from story boarding, proper script formats, filming techniques, green-screens, transitions, audio manipulation, subtitles and finally online publishing to Youtube. Your students will immediately take ownership of assignments that put them in the director’s chair. No experience is necessary, but you must bring something that is capable of recording video and sound (and any associated cables).
