We’ll explore the ins and outs of educational film making, starting from the basics right up to advanced editing techniques. Starting from story boarding, proper script formats, filming techniques, green-screens, transitions, audio manipulation, subtitles and finally online publishing to Youtube. Your students will immediately take ownership of assignments that put them in the director’s chair. No experience is necessary, but you must bring something that is capable of recording video and sound (and any associated cables).

It’s founding CEO, John McBryde followed up on the close working relationship with Apple Education since 1998 whilst at the Western Academy of Beijing and gained the support of Apple to implement leading IT solutions and Training opportunities It is exciting to see this regional focus on Training to support teachers take up the opportunities that technology offers education. SWA hopes that this will also strengthen professional networking amongst teachers.
The ARTC will initially be located in a classroom space in the SWA high school but will relocate to the Da Vinci building – an art science and technology building once it is completed in April The Da Vinci features a range of exciting spaces that will add to the possibilities of the ARTC including – The Einstein studio – a place for discussion and brainstorming, Workshop studios and high end IT studios, Sound and video recording studios, Design technology studios, Presentation theaterette Cafe

It is designed to provide training and networking opportunities for educators To empower teachers to utilize technology to enhance learning through exploring pedagogy and new skills in our digital age. A network of Apple distinguished educators from SWA and other schools in the region will provide series of Apple certified courses together with other leading educators who will present topics of broader interest.
