“E/X”-CITING IN SWA FOR SEMESTER 1

The E/X program this year is getting bigger and better. In the Elementary School the program has been running in 6-weeks blocks. This has provided the students with a greater variety of activities to choose from. The program focuses on the social needs of our students and endeavors to provide a range of interesting activities that promote an active and balanced lifestyle. Students have had the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of activities within such areas as the Arts, Dance, Sports, Chinese Cultural Activities, Music, Cooking and Games.

Recently, we’ve also added the Jakarta Schools Football League and Liverpool Football Academy to our long list of activities on offer. These are two community-based activities we are happy to support on weekends.

In the Middle and High School we are also trying to provide an active and balanced lifestyle. Students have had the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of activities within such areas as the Arts (music, art and drama), Sports, Clubs – from Master Chef to Movie Making to Science Club and Enterprises (Student-Run clubs), Global Citizenship and Languages.

The school has also played a big part in setting up the Jakarta Area Athletics Conference (JAAC). So far, this year we’ve had Basketball, Football, Volleyball in the High School and Basketball and Football in the Middle School. In January, Badminton will start in both MS and HS. Swimming has just begun and we will have Volleyball for MS in February.

In all of our activities we are putting in the long hours as we continue to develop as individuals and within our teams. The MADD team performed their ‘Dramatic Shorts’ in December; this was an amazing production of the performing arts.
